From an old bank to a bright new practice

Dr Darren Di Iulio and Dr Petrina Kat had been searching for the site of their new practice for a good couple of years. They wanted it to be perfect. When they finally found it – a big, old bank on a busy road in Campbelltown – they needed someone with the imagination and skill to realise their vision. Having been impressed with the work he’d seen from Optima, Dr Di Iulio enlisted us to design and fit out the new practice.

Creative alignment comes first

‘They came up with a floor plan that was interesting and fit all the criteria we had for the new practice. It had the look we were going for.’ says Dr Di Iulio.
We created some conceptual designs to ensure our approach aligned with Darren’s vision, and then formed a budget and plan to make the smoothest possible transition from the existing premises to the new one (with minimal downtime).

A complex job made seamless

Come project completion, Dr Di Iulio and Dr Kat were presented with a practice that fulfilled their vision and made the most of a very unique space. We utilised the natural light when planning the surgeries and waiting area, and worked around existing pillars (and an old bank vault) to create a seamless flow through the space. It looks as though we had a blank canvas to work with – but we know the truth! And we’re extremely proud of the final result.
‘I found the whole team very approachable and helpful in coming up with good ideas for how the practice could work in terms of the flow. They also came up with ideas that we hadn’t thought of ourselves which worked really well,’ says Dr Iulio.
