Designing & building better Veterinary facilities
From vet fitouts to ground up new clinic construction – we design and build for patients big and small.
Custom veterinary facilities to support all breeds & species.
Veterinary facilities require empathy, resilience, and a deep understanding of how animals, owners and practitioners move, think, feel.
At OPTIMA, we design and build purpose-driven environments for veterinary care. Spaces that work hard behind the scenes and feel calm on the surface. Spaces that support high pressure environments of urgent decisions, skill execution and considerate conversations.
Veterinary environments that support every patient, pet owner, and practitioner.
Every vet clinic,
any scale.
- Veterinary fitouts & ground-up construction
- Animal emergency centres
- Animal referral hospitals
From vet fitouts through to complex animal hospitals, every OPTIMA veterinary project begins with the same question:
What does great care look like in action?
The answers may be different. But the outcome is always the same – veterinary facilities shaped with purpose, grounded in experience, and built to support the best possible outcomes for both patients and people.

Helpful information
Some commonly asked questions from healthcare practice owners, answered by OPTIMA.
When should I start planning my new practice build or fitout project?
It’s never too early to start planning. The sooner you begin, the more options you’ll have for location, design, and budget considerations. We recommend getting started well before your lease is up or your current space becomes a constraint, so you have the time to make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary pressure.
Do I need to have a location before starting the process?
Not necessarily. If you are yet to find a location, we can undertake a targeted search to locate potential sites and off-market opportunities. We ensure they meet your future needs and are suitable for development i.e. town planning and title checks. We also assist in the negotiation process to secure the best price and terms.
If you already have a location, we’ll assess its potential for development.
How should I choose a healthcare design and construction company?
Building or fitting out a new practice is a significant investment—both personally and financially—so it’s essential to choose a team you can trust. Do your due diligence and look for:
- Proven Experience: Ensure they have a strong track record in healthcare projects.
- Proper Licensing & Insurance: Verify they hold the necessary construction licenses and insurance.
- Regulatory Knowledge: They should understand healthcare-specific regulations and the National Construction Code to ensure compliance.
Don’t risk working with an inexperienced or unqualified provider - choosing the right team will save you time, money, and stress in the long run.
